I love Abbot Kinney. One day I aspire to make enough money so that I may live within walking distance of this sublime gentrified hippie 'hood. Until then, I will just have to make do with pretending like I'm a local and patronizing their fine businesses.

Gjelina

1429 Abbot Kinney Blvd, Venice, CA 90291

I’m currently obsessed with this restaurant. I seriously want to try 98% of what’s on the menu here. The pizzas, salads, vegetable dishes, etc… are all SUPER fresh and seasonal and just can’t seem to say no to any of them! Not to mention the butterscotch pudding, DEFINITELY can’t say no to that.

Abbot Kinney's Best

Or, rather what I think is the best :)

N'ice Cream

1410 Abbot Kinney Blvd, Venice, CA 90291

This is some of the best ice cream I’ve had of late in Los Angeles. I believe they make everything in house, so it has that tasty homemade thing going on. The salty caramel flavor is AMAZING— as are all of their fruit flavors.

Lemonade

1661 Abbot Kinney Blvd, Venice, CA 90291

The Beverly Hills upscale cafeteria recently opened up an outpost on Abbot Kinney, so now all Westsiders can rejoice in the glory that is homemade blueberry lemonade.

Jin Patisserie

1202 Abbot Kinney Blvd, Venice, CA 90291

This place is ridiculously cute-looking and the pastries are ridiculously good. Mascarpone Banana? Chocolate Heaven? YES, please.

Shima

This is also on my “to try on Abbot Kinney” list. I am VERY intrigued by the whole brown sushi idea, and I just love the design here— it’s so serenely modern and clean. I would love whoever designed this place to design my home!

The Tasting Kitchen

I am DYING to try this restaurant! Their menu is just so gosh darn cool-looking. Not to mention the food sounds delicious.

This is a GREAT bar. Unless you like to drink liquor (which I don’t, really), in that case don’t come here because this place does not have a liquor license and only serves beer and wine (my vices of choice). They have an awesome selection of beer here (both bottled and on tap), and the last time I was here they had red AND white sangria! I also love the music they play here, even if they do turn up a tad loud.

Good bar.

The Brig is another fine choice for drinking in the Abbot Kinney area— not to mention the Kogi Truck regularly makes appearances here! See below…

Intelligentsia

1331 Abbot Kinney Blvd, Venice CA 90291

It was only a matter of time before Silver Lake’s uber hip coffee house Intelligentsia opened up a Westside outpost. And really, could you imagine them opening up anywhere that WASN’T Abbot Kinney? Go forth and caffeinate thyself, Westside.

Abbot's Pizza Co

1407 Abbot Kinney Blvd, Venice, CA 90291

Whenever I walk down Abbot Kinney I always see people munching on Abbot’s Pizza and I immediately want some (even if I’m not hungry), it just always looks so good! Bianca and BBQ Chicken—YUM.

My favorite!

Primitivo

1025 Abbot Kinney Blvd, Venice, CA 90291

I’m a big fan of the Primitvo happy hour. They have a pretty good selection of wine here (and sangria!!), and the food is pretty tasty (get the lamb sliders!)

3 Square Cafe & Bakery

1121 Abbot Kinney Blvd, Venice, CA 90291

3 Square is a reincarnation of Rockenwagner (which used to be on Main Street, but has now opened up again of off 3rd Street Promenade). I ate here a while back, and I would come back just for the appetizers and sides. Avocado fries with fire-roasted salsa!!!!

Joe's Restaurant

1023 Abbot Kinney Blvd, Venice, CA 90291

I haven’t been here in ages, but this place was always AMAZING whenever I went. It’s pretty pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for (fresh, seasonal California fare).

I used to live by Abbot Kinney when I lived in LA. I miss it. Good guide.

I just like the name Abbot Kinney and would like to say that’s where I’m from. Quite nice.
