Ya Got Champagne Taste On A Beer Budget?
We all want things we can't afford sometimes. Ok, for me... all the time. However that's never stopped me from getting what I want! Nope. There are ways to squeeze every last penny out of that beer budget. I have a few tasty strategies of my own, but how do you drink champagne out of a beer glass?
Save Some Coffee Bucks
I only go to coffee shops that reward my coffee addiction. Sometimes I prefer lattes, but that can be WAY out of my price range. Here is my strategy:
- Only order regular cups of coffee (that you can decorate as you wish) and continually get your card stamped after each cup.
- Then on your free cup, (about 10 cups or so. Which for me is an easy week.) You can reward yourself with a latte!
Keep in mind that lattes can be very expensive, this tactic works for me. I get my caffeine and am rewarded in the end.
Trader Joes Wins Over Whole Foods
I was addicted to Whole Foods for a very long time. Secretly I still am. It doesn’t help that one is around the corner from me!
I have found that Trader Joe’s. is much much cheaper and can still buy organic food! Yes, twice as many groceries for half the price of what I would get at Whole Foods.
Screw you Whole Foods!
If you haven’t discovered H & M yet, you’re crazy! Hip and trendy clothes galore here! So you don’t have to sacrifice your hip look or your hip wallet.
Yes, I have a very hip wallet, OK.

I shop at cheap grocery stores
I don’t want to shop here. I want to shop at Shaw’s or Stop & Shop or Whole Foods with their big, wide aisles and organized displays and cheery patrons. But, instead, to save money (my calculations have determined it’s about $50/week) I rummage through wooden bins of crackers, can’t buy my beloved Chipotle Tabasco, and get stuck behind elderly shoppers as they saunter around the bargain aisles of no-frills Massachusetts icon Market Basket.

Steal toiletries
Along the same lines as stealing from your office, you can steal toiletries, chiefly toilet paper and paper products from an array of places, not just limited to your office! Keep your eyes open for French-milled soaps and the link.
Shop At Thrift Stores
Thrift stores carry brand names (if you’re into that) plus, clothes that are back in and trendy!
I prefer to thrift and pay less, but still look oh so cute!
Careful though, most jack up their prices because they know that vintage is “in”. So choose your thrift stores wisely!
3 Buck Chuck
Yes, I NEED my wine! Who says that good wine has to be expensive? Charles Shaw didn’t!
In fact, this wine is actually rather good. Charles knows how to make cheap wine that tastes like a $50 bottle, but for way less.
Don’t give up the wine!
Hollywood Farmer's Market
Ivar and Selma Avenue Los Angeles, CA 90028
Shop at farmer’s markets for your produce. not only can you get good deals (especially toward’s the end of the day), but you’re supporting local business so you can feel superior, which is what we’re all going for anyway.
Steal Supplies from the Office
Saves me at least $3 a month.

I am not loyal to any one place that serves up coffee. I like to hop around from place to place until I have found the perfect cup of coffee, or at least until my heart gives out.
I love to poke fun at people, places, and circumstance. You can be a Coffee Slut too. Let's chat over a cup...
