Finding a Doctor

There are millions of people who want to give you their opinion about choosing a doctor, so be careful of whom you listen to, including me. It doesn’t matter what kind of doctor you are looking for, there are some guidelines that you can follow to help you decide on the best. 1. Pick someone you are comfortable with. It does not matter who says they are the best, you must be able to get along with them to do what they say, then it will work better. 2. Pick someone who will actually take some time to talk to you. In order for you to be treated by this person, you need to make sure you understand what they want to do and make sure you believe it is the best and least traumatic course of action. 3. You have to be comfortable with what they want to do to you, that makes it work better too. 4. Start with the least traumatic treatment first and work your way up. It is much harder to go the other way. 5. Keep going to someone who tailors what they are doing to your needs and your progress. They should start backing off your care the better you do. 6. Be careful of medication. In most cases, it covers up the real problems and causes its own problems with side effects. Good luck and be healthy!

Sometimes, finding the right place to go can be the first step.

Just because someone does not have an M.D. after their name does not mean they know less than a physician.
