Kayak and Sailboat Rentals in the San Juans
Some places I've found for boat rentals around the San Juan Islands.
Rents out kayaks for day use from Eastsound, but rented kayaks must stay within the bay. Rates: $18/hr, $60/day (no overnight rentals). This is a resort, but they are happy to rent to non-resort guests.

Sea Kayaking
All the places I contacted said that they don’t rent out sea kayaks for unguided island-hopping, due to liability issues. There are many places that do guided sea kayak tours, but I don’t think that’s what we want…
