Virtually everyone sometime in their lives has suffered from the hassles of shaving, tweezing, and depilatory creams, which provide temporary relief of unwanted hair. Until recently, the only recognized way to remove hair permanently has been electrolysis. Although considered permanent, electrolysis can be tedious, time-consuming, sometimes painful, and is useful only in removing hair from very small areas. Today, with the remarkable advances in laser technology, unwanted hair is being removed safely and affordably. Laser Hair Removal has been extensively researched, tested and proven highly effective in permanently reducing unwanted hair. It works on just about any treatment area of the body where smooth skin is desired. Women commonly treat the face, especially the upper lip or eyebrow area, in the bikini area, under the arms or on the legs. Men often wish to rid themselves of hair on their neck, chest, and back.

FAQ's Laser Hair Removal

Is laser hair removal permanent?
There are no lasers that have achieved permanent hair removal, only permanent hair reduction. One can achieve anywhere from a 70% – 90% reduction in hair growth. These results will be influenced by certain conditions such as skin and hair colour and hormones.

Is laser hair removal painful?
Our Candela laser has a dynamic cooling device (DCD), which cools the skin on contact, reducing discomfort. Most patients compare the feeling to a rubber band snapped against the skin but, everyone’s individual pain thresholds differ. Some patients choose to use a numbing cream depending on the treatment area.

How many treatments will I need?
Individual treatments vary from patient to patient but, with our experience 6 to 8 treatments are usually necessary. After that, a maintenance laser hair removal treatment once or twice a year is often all that is required to maintain your results.
