Now that we're safely into the 21st century, we can finally look back and carefully choose The Trial of the Century, a title given to at least 10 different cases from 1900-2000. We could do that, or we (meaning me) could just go ahead and write about the one we were alive for: The OJ Simpson Trial! Haven't you always wanted to see Nicole's condo and the driveway where the white Ford Bronco may or may not have been parked the night of the murders? Well, probably not, but now you can.

Paul Revere Middle School

11934 San Vicente Boulevard Los Angeles, CA 90049

On June 12, 1994 Orenthal James ‘O.J.’ Simpson and his ex-wife Nicole Brown attended their daughter Sydney’s (then aged 8) dance recital at Paul Revere Middle School in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Mezzaluna Trattoria

11750 San Vicente Boulevard Los Angeles, CA 90049

Sometime during the evening of June 12th, Nicole and her mother, Juditha dined at Mezzaluna Trattoria, an Italian bistro in Brentwood that has since closed its swank doors. At dinner, Juditha managed to misplace her sunglasses.

When the women noticed this oversight, Juditha called the restaurant to inquire about the glasses which were located outside. Minutes later, Nicole called Mezzaluna (presumably) to request that her good friend, Ron Goldman , deliver the glasses to her condominium later that evening.

After leaving Mezzaluna, but before arriving at Nicole’s condo, Ron stopped off at his own apartment to change clothes and shower.

Nicole Brown's Condo

875 S. Bundy Drive Los Angeles, CA 90049

Though the infamous address has been changed and the building completely remodeled, this is where Nicole and Ron were found. Allegedly, the house was decorated with candles and soft music was playing, leading many to believe that the pair were more than just friends. Regardless, as OJ and Nicole’s children, Sydney and James, slept in their upstairs bedrooms, a brutal murder took place on the front steps of this building.

OJ Simpson's House

360 N. Rockingham Avenue Los Angeles, CA 90049

According to testimony by limo driver Allan Park, he arrived at OJ’s residence around 10:25PM on the evening of June 12th, 20 minutes before OJ’s scheduled pick up at 10:45 for a limo to LAX, where he was catching a late flight to Chicago. Parks testified that he was unable to contact OJ until around 11:05PM, when he came out of the house and loaded 3 bags into the limo. OJ was sweating profusely and demanded that the air-conditioner be left throughout the ride to the airport.

Since demolished, this was OJ Simpson’s Brentwood home.

OJ arrived at the airport in Park’s limo and boarded his flight to Chicago without incident.

What Happened Next?

No one will ever know for sure what really happened once Ron arrived at Nicole’s house.  The next certain moment doesn’t come until 12:13AM, June 13th when two LAPD officers are summoned to Nicole’s Bundy Drive condo, only to find a horrifying and gruesome scene: both Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman had been violently stabbed to death on the steps of the condo.

After the bodies were discovered, the police began to identify potential suspects.  Based solely on the fact that OJ was Nicole’s ex-husband, he was immediately fingered.  Due to his celebrity and persuasive lawyering, the LAPD agreed to let OJ turn himself in at 11am on June 17th.  But as we all know, this never happened.  Leaving stunned reporters waiting at the police station (way before Paris did it!) OJ had his friend, Al Cowlings, drive him in his white Ford Bronco down the 405 during primetime (and the NBA finals) and speeds reaching….about 40 miles and hour.  Police followed warily as Cowlings told them OJ had a loaded gun pointed at him.  This, in addition to the ominous sounding note presented by OJ’s lawyer (and Kim’s dad) Robert Kardashian, made a lot of people think that the once idolized superstar might be suicidal.

Slowly but surely, Cowlings led police back to OJ’s Brentwood home where he was allowed to go inside for about an hour.  Once his friend and attorney, Robert Shapiro, arrived at the house, OJ surrendered.
