A collection of our favorite spots in the neighborhood, high-end to ethnic.

DOG FRIENDLY, with outdoor seating. A real magnet in this relatively affluent part of town, of homes (and no restaurants in a 5-block radius). Wood-fired pizza is the best.

Great for breakfasts on the weekend — Saturday mornings this is where everyone in the neighborhood seems to gather. Great egg scrambles, toast and AWESOME French roast.

Ethiopian -—————————-

Queen of Sheba: The Ethiopian connection… Denver is sister city to Axum, 3rd-largest city in Ethiopia & in the heart of N. Ethiopia (ravaged in the 1970’s war with Eritrea). 22,000 Ethiopians live in Denver, many in Park Hill. Thus, a large number of such restaurants. Queen of Sheba is well known.

Luxury / Romantic -———————-

Cork House: when you’re ready for something nicer, they do a “dinner for two” with wine parings, and often serve different dishes to each person (…14 dishes total — fun for sharing!)

Morocan -——————————-

(ignore her cash – it really is a family joint)

Mataam Fez is … well, a family restaurant with seating on pillows and belly dancing. (Great place for a father-in-law’s birthday dinner.)
