Perhaps THE most agonizing decision I have made and made and made and reassessed continually is WHERE to send my kids to school... So much to consider... Social environment Curriculum Teachers Location School Size What does my kid think? So, here's a place that I am adding my information for what I've been looking at and it's filled with MY NOT SO HUMBLE opions (tee hee)

Close to dad’s house, one of my best friend’s kids went there and is now in Harvard…Ugh….I don’t know…

Had drinks with the former East Football coach…he was aghast that Anthony wouldn’t be going there since we’re IN district…

Rethinking East…it’s got a lot going for it, and it’s close to my house…not to mention that I LOVE THAT building

Several of Anthony’s friends will be at East, it’s big (4000) and has speech and debate, robotics club, ultimate frisbee, advanced classes, etc…

I’m 99% sure this school has been closed…ugh…

I have a love/worry relationship with this school. In some ways, I think it is THE BEST school in Denver, and in other ways, I worry it’s not going to be enough for Anthony to get his academics rigorously challenged, but I worry about that everywhere….

Anthony had a GREAT year there as an 8th grader (taking all high school cur)…The Baja trip was transformational…

He may end up here for the tail end of high school and there’s a new principal coming on board next year…that might influence me A LOT!

Ok, computer magnet program, smaller high school (1500 kids…), far from our houses…Anthony shadowed and said, “It’s a lot like Morey..” which was not a good sign, since he fled that bastion of as Anthony saw it, arbitrary rules from hell that “treat us like we’re in prison instead of like we’re in 8th grade!”

He’s been accepted to the magnet program, and Scott Lassard (VP) was really nice to us, but I’m worried it’s not going to be right for Anth…

Great sounding school, except you can only get in on a lottery system, and well, we’re never lucky with that…

Anthony is 127th on the waiting list for the fall…can you say, ain’t gonna happen?

Gosh, this was such a great school when Anthony was there in 6th grade, and then it seems fear took over, and gone are the all-day action learning seminars…
