The Guidespot Gym Mix

What song on your iPod always pushes you forward when all you want is for treadmill failure? Let your fellow gym rats in on the secret songs you use to keep yourself going and going and going.

Port O' Brien - I Woke Up Today

If I had to pick one song to run a marathon to, this would be that song. I’ve been running with Port O’ Brien singing in my ear since they first dropped this track into my hands.

Tokyo Police Club - In a Cave

Tokyo Police Club want you running hard from start to finish. From the first bomp cha bompbomp cha to the final dying guitar, every note is biting the ankles of my stubborn inner runner.

Chromeo - Tenderoni

Or pretty much anything off of this album.

LCD Soundsystem - Tribulations

I’m a sucker for those chunky acid bass lines.

Matt & Kim - Daylight

At the start, in the middle, at the end, anywhere in between, it’s always a good time to run when Matt & Kim are kicking along in my head.

LCD Soundsystem - All My Friends

Who knew piano driven songs would be so good for gym’in it up? Between Matt & Kim and now LCD Soundsystem I’m tempted to throw a little Beethoven or Chopin in the mix.

Girl Talk- Feed the Animals

The entire Girl Talk Feed the Animals album has literally saved my work-outs. I could seriously run forever listening to them. Because they mash up soo many different songs and artists, I’m never bored. And the beats are perfect for running on the treadmill (boo). All of Girl Talk’s albums are great, but Feed the Animals is my fave. Plus, you can download it for however much you want on their website!

Sit Down Stand Up - Radiohead

Seriously try this one out. That ending when he starts singing about raindrops or whatever it is just somehow makes your feet move faster than a squirrel on a treadmill!

I’ve heard so much about Matt & Kim and now I am convinced! Awesome guide!

I’m scared to contribute for fear of not being hip enough. I think Matt Fried should put in his two cent though!
